Several connection configurations are being considered for the Coumnagappul wind farm project, taking account of existing and planned transmission infrastructure. The Coumnagappul Wind Farm site is located 16km north of the Dungarvan 110 kV substation.

 

The preferred connection strategy of the project features an internal collector circuit and onsite substation, which will export electricity via a 110kV underground cable to the existing substation in Dungarvan. Any connection strategy will not be finalised until a connection offer is made by Eirgrid.

A grid integration study will be carried out in conjunction with Eirgid and can commence in Q2 2022 once the planning process has been completed.
